Gianluca Ascione was born in Gemona del Friuli (UD) in 1994
During his high school studies, Gianluca was a founding member of IANONOIA (2012). The collective self published and distributed their comics and zines throughout their community. He studied Comics and Illustration at Academy of fine art of Bologna from 2016 to 2021. During his time in Bologna he won the prize Coop fo words for his short story Océan and he  published Il grifone d’oro with Canicola edizioni, with which was nominated for “emerging author” at the Treviso comics book festival. Pages of the comic were exhibited at Cassero LGBTQ+ center in Bologna during BILBOLBUL comics festival (2018). In 2020 Gianluca was part of the anthology Sporchi e Subito edited by Fumettibrutti with Feltrinelli comics. With Editiondepress and the collaboration of Modo infoshop bookshop he self published the zine Centauromachia (2020). In 2020 he founded the collective 134M13i. 134M13i published Magione in the number 55 of Artribune (2020) and printed the zine BODENKO#1 (2022). In 2022 he collaborated with the comics museum Paff! in Pordenone, holding courses and educational activities.
